Nooroo had remained behind safely curled up in Gabriel's dresser drawer. He'd heard about the magic blocking properties of the barrier and didn't want to risk his very magical little friend coming to potential harm. But so far as he was aware, it shouldn't be especially dangerous to humans.

Apparently he was wrong, however. No sooner had the barrier closed than the young couple, Cassidy and Grey, seemed to all but collapse onto the sand. Hastily setting down the box he was carrying, he hurried to their sides. "What's wrong?", he asked, crouching down in front of them. He didn't bother asking if they were alright, since the answer to that was obvious.
