He shrugged. "A merchant or a craftsman needs customers," he said. "A teacher, students. A healer, patients. A warrior, battles to fight. There are simply too few people at present to require such things constantly. A more workable system would be something similar to guild leves, where individual tasks are offered for compensation, rather than longer term employment for wages."
