He narrowed his eyes at that, eyeing her and her makeshift weapon. On one hand, this was entirely uncalled-for. He could barely see her under what she was wearing, but from what little he could, he'd have guessed either human or elf... and her apparent eagerness for confrontation suggested human, in his experience. It could be a point against her... but she was still small, perhaps only a child; maybe this one could still learn better? On the other hand... honestly, he could see himself grabbing similar, if attacked. And what exactly she'd said wasn't inherently unreasonable; should one of those human monsters have approached him with their swords, he'd have done more already.
"Nor I, you." He raised his left arm, squeezing something within it, moving the parts inside his forearm that fanned his shield's segments into place. "Stand down."
He wasn't holding any weapon, simply lowering himself into a better position from which to defend, his little shield up between them. At least his tree was off behind him; she'd have to get through him to reach it.
