You're From The Isle If Anybody Asks

First Awareness
Those used to this by now probably knew what it meant when they felt their magic return for a moment. For the rest, suddenly their powers were back. Just for a few minutes, but a lot could be done in a few minutes. If the person even noticed their powers were back, that is.

Of course those on the shore might have seen the hazy indistinct shape through the barrier coming closer, might have seen the moment the hole in the barrier opened. Might have seen King Ben leading people down a gangplank through the barrier with crates of supplies....

Unions, Re And Otherwise
Once the supplies were unloaded, the barrier was sealed up again. King Ben seemed to be in charge during the unloading, Once the barrier was closed again, by the green magic streaming from the Queen's finger, it was Mal who seemed to be in charge.

"Alright, listen up. We have 2 hours and the clock is ticking. I'm not FG but we're keeping to a deadline anyway. If you want to come to Auradon or know someone you want us to bring back, you have 2 hours to convince us. You and everyone else, sharing the same 2 hours. Along with anyone who has a supply request for our next visit, or updates. Those of you bringing supplies to the school, time to get cracking. Two hours passes faster than midnight at the ball."

Those Who Left
(Please TL Here for boat and Auradon Shenanigans. TY)

Those What Remain
Once those going back to Auradon had left and the barrier was back in place, it was for those who remained on the Isle to sort the supplies and figure out how to get done everything that needed to be done with the people that remained.

Foulques OTA

[personal profile] mist_the_point 2025-03-16 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
First Awareness

As was often the case, Foulques was out fishing. This, thankfully put him in a prime position to spot the approaching shape that could only be the boat. For those who might not recognize it however, Foulques abandoning his fishing earlier than usual might seem strange. He would answer questions if asked, but would be in a bit of a rush. There were things to gather and prepare before the young King and his cohorts arrived, and once they did, time would be limited.

Unions, Re And Otherwise

Foulques wasted no time approaching Ben and Mal. He gave them a nod by way of greeting before speaking up. "There are a number of matters I wish to discuss, but the first and most urgent is this," he said. "Have you any healers among your group? Some time ago, Professor Yen Sid was gravely injured in what we have evidence to indicate was an attempt on his life via sabotage. Chell and I have cared for him as best we are able, but though his visible wounds have healed, he has yet to regain consciousness. He is not a young man, and and I suspect that you need not be told that each day that passes without him waking increases the likelihood that he may never. If there is ought that any of you can do..."

Unions, Re and Otherwise

Eli was only aware of the boat arriving because other people started heading for the shore and she overheard them from her perch on the roof.

Her first instinct, of course, was to hide. She didn't trust these mysterious people from across the water not to see her for the fiefling she was. She still was in shock that she crossed the bridge that no one had questioned her right to do so.

But look how that had turned out for her. Somehow the Hawklord had sent her here. Then filled her head with terrifying images of the future that might await if she somehow made it back.

Not a chance.

Except....

Except... she made a bet with Foulques. A bet. And she was a fiefling. It was a bet. She had to go.

But she was going to be killed. She just knew it.

Even as a feifling, her life for a bet?

She was a feifling. It was a bet. She had to go.

Besides. she had seen those vision things. There was nothing good waiting for her. There or here. Was it so bad if they did kill her?

Not... really.

She'd never been strong enough to do it herself. Hadn't she expected the Hawklord to do exactly that if she failed?

End the thread that she had become.

Terrified, she slipped off the roof and tried to hug the thorn wall to keep from being seen as she crept behind people towards the shore.

Very few places to hide there. She saw the fishing shack but the tall man, Doctor something or other, he had taken the best shadowed spot. So she crept around to hide behind the shack, peering out from its other side. Trying to get her courage up.

Trying to figure out how much it would hurt when they killed her, and how she was supposed to collect on her bet then. Stupid bet. She should have thought before agreeing. But it was a bet....

Eyes narrowed, hunched down to the ground, she watched the people unload and tried not to shiver...

Cassidy and Grey were helping carry supplies from the boat to the shore when they got their first look at the Isle. It... wasn't promising.

Cassidy set down her load and knelt near one of the thorns, just inland of the beach. "The Land..." she whispered.

"Cassidy..." Grey said, warningly.

She shook her head. "This nee to be done. Grey. This could help so many people here. This could..." the barrier closed mid-sentance and Cassie staggered into Grey. He caught her. but his hands tightened a moment before shifting to hold her more gently. But it was hard to tell which one of them was holding the other up.

Neither, as it turned out, as they both slid to the ground, looking haunted and horrified.

They might be in some trouble...

"Be careful with that!" the problem was, Ian had too much stuff to unload it all themselves. Way too much. But they were doing their best to gather it all in one place. "Once it is all off loaded, can someone show me where I'll be staying?" they asked. Without having thought about the fact that they hadn't told anyone but the King and Queen that they were intending to stay...

"I can take the supply requests," she volunteered, glancing to Mal as she fished around in her pocket for another of her little makeshift clipboard-book things. It had paper in it, and she pulled out a pen as well... she'd come prepared!

((She'll be around if anyone wants her... she's in her usual adult elf-lady form, once again with giant butterfly wings folded down behind her like a long drapey cape. and if there's anyone who'll be staying, she'll try to get their measurements for making them, specifically, some warmer clothes....))

Sun had completely missed the memo that the barrier had come down for even a moment.

While everyone else was finagling cargo and going about their meet-and-greet, the animatronic jester was continuing to mind his own business, cleaning up. He'd gotten rid of all the trash from the main hall, the side halls, all the way down through the lower levels as well, and had been working on the rooms in which the lights would turn on next. He'd been sorting bits and bobs into various boxes, with paper trash in this one and plastic trash in that one, and had taken to using one of the relatively untouched classrooms upstairs to hold all the boxes of things. He'd figured out already that no Staffbots (or anyone else, for that matter) would regularly come by to empty the garbage cans, and that said cans also didn't simply empty themselves.... which meant he'd have to do something else with it all to get rid of it, or at least reduce it. Maybe they could at least burn the paper stuff that wasn't good enough to use for writing or crafts? the once-wet, dry-again tissue shreds, the splinters of wood in another box, that would all be good to burn, right? There were plenty of boxes in that room now, in various states of full-ness, but it was quickly becoming a good spot to find material based on, well, material.

If someone else was in the building, they might catch sight of him quietly focused on his task, using a broom with a broken handle to clear out some of the floor trash from one of the side areas, pausing to turn it over to use the handle to scrape a stuck bit of it off the floor, and then carrying on again, dumping it all into the nearest trash can for easier transportation....

If someone comes around a corner quickly without looking, they're likely to run into him. SURPRISE, there's a bright yellow sunshine-looking jester, glowing faintly, suddenly right there!

Jack - OTA

First Awareness

Jack certainly felt the brief return of magic. He was a creature made of magic most of the time after all.

He looked around in confusion as soon as he felt it. Was the barrier down? Damaged? It wasn't visible to begin with, so the gesture didn't accomplish much. He called to the wind, curious if it would answer him here, and was pleased to feel it lift his feet from the muddy slush of the ground, though it didn't seem able to lift him far, just a few feet off the ground. He glanced out towards the water and noticed the dark smudge of the ship against the horizon. What was this? He flew low towards the edge of the water, until the snap of magic in the air dissipated and he was left to walk the last dozen or so feet.

If anyone aboard had a good enough view of the Isle, they might notice the pale boy appearing out of seemingly thin air as the barrier closed.

First Awareness

Zuko had felt his inner flame flicker to life the instant the barrier weakened, of course he had. He took a long, measured breath, and when he exhaled flames licked from his mouth. He finally felt the chill that had settled in his bones begin to dissipate. The frost that clung to the ground around where he was working sizzled and steamed into the air. He took another breath and coiled a fist back, gathered heat in his palm, and struck out towards the wall of dark vines in front of him. Only for the small rekindled light behind his lungs to snuff out again as suddenly as it had appeared. A faint whisper of smoke curled from the end of his punch, but not even a single spark remained.

He cursed loudly, with all the heat that was once again missing from his body. Well, attempted to, what actually spit from his lips was the same tumble of nonsense as had every other time he'd tried to curse here. He threw a fist out again, this time letting his knuckles make contact with the thorny branches. He dropped his hands to his side, skin now torn and raw, he was breathing heavily, rage and frustration simmering under his skin where his flames should be.

If anyone had seen Zuko's fit on the path down to the shore, it would probably be fair of them to steer clear of him, though perhaps they'd change their minds upon seeing the blood dripping from his hand?

Later into the visit....
Chell had been out working on the thornbushes again when the barrier dropped. Without anyone or any creatures nearby, what senses the Isle dampened to nothingness had nothing to sense, when the barrier dropped the first few times. So he was oblivious, for a good while... but he figured it out before the visit's end, when a certain fairy found him to catch up again.

So he was at least easily locatable again toward the end of the visit, at the beach. Later on, he even grabbed the desktop and readied whatever cargo he could to be taken into the school later, piling it up on the board in advance.

Anyone want to say hi to the tree?
