"Alright. Well..." Ian considered where to start. "What we get about Chara comes from two places, flashbacks... and subtext. The flashbacks are the easier part, but most of those are from after Chara fell into the Underground. A family called the Dreemurs took Chara in. They were King Asgore, Queen Toriel, and their child Asriel. They took the child in and took good care of the child. And as near as we could tell, Chara was happy there. We see some brief moments of Chara and Asriel's childhood together. Goofing around, being kids. Mostly playing with a camera. Then we hear from Asriel later that the reason Chara fell down the mountain probably wasn't a very good one. Asriel by the time the game ends on what they call the pacifist run is desperately trying to see the player character, Frisk, as Chara. It is... honestly kind of heartbreaking. Because we also get the story of... well..." a hesitation. "Of how Chara and Asriel... died."

They waited, watching to see the reaction. Worried that was news.
