With another puff of blue smoke everyone would once more fall asleep and then come to where they had vanished from when last they'd been on the Isle. But some things were changed. Some of those changes would be found easily. Like the fact that the halls were a little cleaner. That some doors that had been closed were now open, and some were closed that had been open.
But some of the changes...
Some of the changes might be discovered best over time.
Like the messages some of the teachers found in their offices that may or may not have consequences down the line.
Like the faint hints of flour in some of the hallways.
Like the fact that there are things missing from the tagged lockers that Conan had broken into, and in their place was a note (See headers).
But on the Isle side, the biggest change would be found in the secret hideout. Because someone or something had found it. (See headers)

The Tagged Lockers
Date: 2023-02-17 04:53 am (UTC)From:The note was written on the back of the VK application fliers that had been there before, and was written in glittery ink that switched from purple, to green, to black (white here for readability), and then back again. Clearly a little more added here and there over time. All the same handwriting though. Small variations for when the person was leaning on a book, vs sitting at a desk, vs leaned against the lockers, and stuff like that. But the same person.
"To whoever broke into our old lockers - I should be angry, but hey... you gotta survive, like we had to. Wish I could have left you more useful stuff, but didn't exactly plan on coming back this way. Look, just... know that Auradon knows you are here now. That someone is at least. And we're coming. Just hold out a little longer. And Don't trust the teachers too much. Except Professor Yen Sid. The others... trust them only where you interests and theirs overlap. And watch your back. Never before has the Isle been so dangerous."
"Wow, okay, just checked all the usual places for food stash and it looks like someone got there first. Hope it is you guys. Stay strong. We're going to get food out to you as soon as we can."
"We now know who exactly is here on the Isle, or rather who will be returning when we swap back. The spell expires soon. We have your names. We are coming to help. Trust professor Yen Sid. Don't tell any of the other teachers you were told to trust him. Don't betray us in this. We're coming to help."
"Okay, spell should be over soon. Brought back a lot of old memories being here. But I'm just as happy to be leaving them behind. Leaving you a pair of my gloves. Fingerless gloves aren't just isle fashion, they're useful. Down in the gym there are heating pipes. Don't touch them unprotected. But with the gloves it is bearable. Just. Move the pipes - not easy alone, but possible - behind them I found a stash of the Gastons jerky. I would have pulled it out, but couldn't take the risk one of the teachers would smell it out in my locker before you saw this note. Not much, but hey, it's food. Just be careful, no magical healing creams on the Isle."
"This is it. Unless Merlin's calculations are wrong. Again. We are sorry you all got dragged into this. But hopefully you had a better time in Auradon than this lot had here. You'd think most of them never starved before. But we are coming to get you. OR at least... get supplies to you. Anything you can do to clear the vines will help. We'll be aiming for the docks where the pirates had their ships, rather than the trash barge docks. Tell Professor Yen Sid that. Focus on clearing a path that way. We're trying to make a path to the harbor on our side. Or had been before we wound up here. Hopefully we'll meet soon. Anyone with guts enough to break into my locker? That's a punk I wanna meet. Wonder if you're as bad as I was back then. Good luck, new VKs. And keep hope. Auradon is coming. For those it needs to be a threat to, it is. For those for whom it should be hopeful, have hope. Stay strong. Keep fighting."
This one is written quickly, and the handwriting is more sloppy. "Not sure when we're leaving, any minute now Merlin thinks, and I realized I forgot to tell you who I am. I'm M" that page was caught in the corner of the locker and tore, cutting off the end of the message.
The Secret Hideout
Date: 2023-02-17 05:13 am (UTC)From:Things in the hideout have been moved around. Someone clearly was spending time up there while everyone was gone. While a few small things are missing - nothing of emotional or practical import, thankfully - some new things are there. Sitting near one of the seats is a large dairy canister. It is sealed, but when opened they will find two servings of clotted cream inside. Along with a very very tiny little spoon. Getting that all out might be difficult, but hey... clotted cream.
Behind the seat is a half crushed partial package of tea biscuits, there is what looks like a clotted cream fingerprint that had been mostly wiped off on the outside of it. A bit of flower is in the cream on the package, but it is also a week out of the can so probably not the most pleasant scent.
Perhaps the least useful, but most out of place, thing might be the cup and saucer sitting on the floor, the tea cup upside down on the saucer. At a quick glance the cup and saucer look like they went together. They were like inverted ming in design - white on blue instead of blue on white. But the glaze was similar. However...
A closer look would show that the cup and saucer aren't from the same set after all. Not only is the cup just a little too small for the saucer when set in the typical way, but the designs are different. Thematically similar, but not the same. In both cases they were two kinds of flowers. But the saucer was a sunflower with clearly defined petals. The center part, where the cup should go, was the seeds. Around the edges were delicately wrought hydrangea blooms. The cup on the other hand... the pattern was very like roses and dahlias if their petals were loosely drifting clouds along the edges, with vines and stems that curled artfully.
The bottom of the cup is a marker's mark. Red Chinese characters in a square over what looked like a map of someplace not easily identifiable.
On the bottom of the saucer, in the middle, is the same maker's mark. However there is also writing there. In ornamental Chinese is a number of characters followed by something that was not quite chinese but so ornamental it looked a lot like it. Not easily read. This is all under the glaze. OVer the glaze, however, a bold hand has written something that has clearly faded in places over time...
A Place For Lea's Note To Yen Sid

Date: 2023-02-17 07:18 am (UTC)From:Hey there,
MastProfessor Yen Sid.First of all, sorry about breaking into your office. Well, kinda sorry; we needed information, and I figured that if anybody would have kept accurate records of what's been going on here, it'd be the guy they actually sent here to do that. And we did make sure to lock the door behind us.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know to be on the lookout for people in long black coats. You know the kind Xion wears? Ones like that. And if any do show up, pay attention to what they look like. A lot of them are bad news, but a few of them are my friends. And two of them... well, it kinda depends.
Particularly bad news ones:
Xigbar. He's pretty easy to recognize; got a scarred-up face and an eyepatch, long black and silver hair. Just assume that everything that comes out of his mouth that isn't a blatantly obvious statement of fact is a lie of some sort and you probably won't be far off. Also never, ever drink coffee he makes. You'll regret it. Trust me on this one.
Xemnas. Big guy, gold eyes and silver hair. Deep monotone voice. I can't stress enough how dangerous this guy is. Stay clear of him. Keep others clear of him. Even the other villains, if you can.
Larxene. Shortish blonde woman with a hairdo that looks like bug antennae. She might have bluish-green or gold eyes. She's nasty and violent and WAY too fond of knives.
Marluxia. Big muscular guy with pink hair. May have either blue or gold eyes, and might be carrying a scythe. Out of all the ones on this list, he's probably the most likely to be reasonable, and the scythe might actually be helpful given all the vines. But he knows how to use that scythe on more than just plants and has tried a hostile takeover before. Keep an eye on him.
The two of them that it kinda depends on are Vexen and Siax. Siax has long, light blue hair, a big X-shaped scar on his face, and may have either bluish-green or gold eyes. If they're blueish green he'll probably be really cold, but at least reasonable. If they're gold, you'll probably have to talk to him a bit to find out if he's OK. If he also responds to the name 'Isa' or mentions/reacts to the mention of Master Xehanort or a True Organization XIII, he's a good guy. If not, you might want to be careful about him til I get there.
Vexen has long blonde hair and might have either gold or acid-green eyes. If they're green, he 100% belongs on the list of ones to avoid; that incarnation of him is a full-on mad scientist who can and will perform icky and potentially lethal experiments on people. Gold eyes Vexen though is on your side, and would make a great lab partner. Just be sure he steps away from the test tubes once in awhile; when he gets really into his work he tends to forget about needing things like food and sleep.
As for friends of mine who might be dressed like that... well Xion you've already met. And I really appreciate you keeping an eye out for her. Please tell her that 'Axel' is fine and is working on a way to get to her. Roxas might turn up dressed like that too, he's a teenage boy with blue eyes and spikey blonde hair. Would appreciate if you could keep an eye on hm too if he turns up; he and Xion are two of my best friends.
And I think that covers everything. At least, everything that I don't figure Mal and Ben would be better suited to telling you than me. Hope to get to talk to you in person sooner rather than later.
~Lea
