I Could Find The Way To Who I'm Meant To Be - Isle Style
Nov. 26th, 2024 02:52 amMemories Of Future Past Part 2 - The Last Memory
The flickering snippets of memory got to a point so far out for many that they almost could not recognize themselves. Who they had come to be. And then one day, something was different.
This time there wasn't even a snippet. There was less. But there was an emotional impact that hit differently. There was a sense that this... this was important.
It would happen when each person was at their most exhausted and fragile after the onslaught of the weird bits of memory from some future they had not yet lived.
But now there was one last... not a memory. No. Somehow instinctively each character would know that this wasn't a memory. This... was a message.
A single word sent back from their future self. A self further out than any of the future memories, even if only by days. Or hours.
That word might come with an image of their future face, a tone of voice, and maybe a faint image of their future self for just a flickering second.
But this message, this single word... it is what their future self wanted their current self to know. A single word meant to help. Or, if the character really hates themselves, to hurt.
That word might not make sense now, but the character will be able to tell that to their future self, that single word was of vital importance.
Auradon's Got Talent
The TV was hauled out again. The show had already started when the Headmaster had noticed it was working, so the very beginning was missed, but a few days after that final message, the people of the Isle have something to watch. If there was anything said before the broadcast began, however... It was missed.
Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel joined the Headmaster out in the hall to watch the programming with the Misery-called.
They will be available for talking to after, if anyone feels particularly like tormenting themselves.

Elianne | Locked to whoever did part 1 with her
Date: 2024-12-05 09:14 am (UTC)From:Going through years of memories in many many flashes, the adult look of Elianne/Kaylin would be a now familiar sight. The deadly nightshade tattoo on her cheek. The messy hair. The circles under the eyes that spoke to a perpetual lack of sleep.
But her voice when she spoke the single word... oh her voice. Full of fierce pride and hope and both joy and sorrow. Frustration. Home. Purpose. Kaylin's expressive face helped that as well. Whatever the word might mean to Eli now, it meant everything - or would mean everything - to Kaylin then.
Because if Kaylin had only one word to send back to her 13 year old self, one word to warn or reassure or guide or give hope... there was only one word it could ever have been.
Being Chosen, perhaps it should have been a True Word. But Eli didn't know from them and Kaylin wouldn't have picked one regardless. Because for all everyone she loved argued about what the word should be, all trying to help, there had only ever been one choice.
No. Not everyone had argued. Severn had understood almost before she did. Teela had known enough to start a betting pool, which she won. Because they both knew what Kaylin knew. There was only one word.
And it wasn't Shadow or even Ravellon. It wasn't Chosen. It wasn't Helen or Hope or Familiar or Home even. It wasn't forgiveness.
The face of Kaylin's future, full of complex emotion, but mostly pride and purpose said a single word.
"Hawk".
And like that, she was gone.
And Eli was crying, without knowing why.
River Song - OTA | Spoilers
Date: 2024-12-15 08:17 am (UTC)From:So when she saw a version of herself start to appear. Face only. Hardly a day older looking than she looked now - not that that meant anything - she prepared herself.
Deep steadying breath.
She saw the emotion in her other self's eyes. Complicated mixed emotions. Then that quirk of the lips, and she knew what her one word would be.
Couldn't have been anything else.
The ghostly face image of her future self smiled. "Spoilers." and vanished.
River nodded. That... okay she finally understood how that was terribly annoying. It was also, of course, quite amusing. And made her miss home. More than she had in a while.
Chara | OTA | CW: Body horror/face horror in 8 bit. And Genocide.
Date: 2024-12-15 08:28 am (UTC)From:One word. Just one.
The voice was creepy. Echoing. The word itself was innocent enough seeming. The way that distorted face said "LOVE" before vanishing. The anachronism might be the worst of it.
For anyone who didn't know the other meaning of the word...
